Taking care of Me . . .

So, I'll be 37 in a few days and I am continuing on this path of self-care/self-pampering/brightening my inner light, if you will. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I abused myself or anything like that, but let's just say . . . I haven't felt like I was putting my BEST foot forward. Again, your girl looks damn good (!) ;), I just want to be "on point". The reality of it is, when you are in shape, you not only have an abundance of clothing options, you tend to feel awesome physically and mentally because you are taking care of YOU. Self-care is so important and the effects trickle down/flow outward in other areas of your life. It is soooo true!!!! When I take the time to make sure my "foundation" is on point, I feel so much better and this positive feeling emanates from within. I find I get a lot more compliments then as well (not that I ever look for compliments). The reality of it is (well, my reality anyway) that the Law of Attraction is in full effect. When you are feeling good about yourself, people can pick up on that energy. Anywho, I also love it when I can look at my body and appreciate it for all it can do as well as for how I look.

I completed my 12th Physique 57 workout today and it's quickly becoming addictive. I can see the progress I've made (completing the plie "sprints" w/o stopping) and my arse and legs are getting tighter. Maaaan look . . . watch me when I lean this body out!!!! I might be on somebody's nude beach somewhere, lol. I plan to post pictures, but I'll wait until I'm at my "after" and then show a comparison.

Also, I've recently gotten semi-obsessed with Goodwill! Did ya'll know they have a weekly "color" and every item with a tag that color is 50% off?!!!! Hayell yes! I want to build my wardrobe and focus on thrifted pieces for now. Hey, I am self-employed with a son in college and a teenager and a mortgage . . . shiiid. =D Stay tuned!

That's all for now. I'll be watching "Scandal" tonight and I can't wait! *Hee!* That show is so well done!

What's new in my life . . .

Not much, lol. I've just been going about my business as usual. I always feel I could be more on my grind and I'm making a concerted effort to do just that.

I can't believe I didn't mention a milestone event in my life?!!!! My firstborn "J" went off to college this Fall and is doing GREAT!!!! He's loving it and has made friends. I'm so very proud of him. :) My younger son "J" is a Junior in High School and is getting himself together. He has been making good grades and enjoying himself. I'm learning day by day how to deal with teenagers . . . simply ignore them, lol. He tries my patience on the regular, but sometimes I simply say, "Okay J" and then tune out anything else. I don't really like to argue.

On another note, I've been back from Barcelona for almost two months. "T" and I still communicate regularly. I really like him (perhaps a bit more than like). He has shown himself to be genuine about developing and maintaining a friendship with me. Even though I feel a bit more than friendship for him, I like that we are getting to know each other as friends. He's not "spitting game" at me or trying to sell me dreams. I'm learning to be patient and to wait on God's divine timing. I know that what God has for me, is for me and my happiness is not tied to one individual. I have been referencing 1 Corinthians 13:4 regularly: "Love is patient, love is kind . . . ". I plan to visit Germany in the Spring. :)

Okay, so I'm back on my Physique 57 routine. I've decided that I don't have to be such a perfectionist about my workouts. My previous goal was 4-5 workouts per week for four weeks straight before I could purchase the second series. Well, when I would fall short of that, I would feel like I had to start all over. Pshah! My current goal is to complete 21 workouts and then I will be able to purchase the second series. Today I will complete workout #10. :) I like this way much better because I'm still completing around the same amount of workouts while cutting myself some slack.

Anywho, that's about it for now. I'd really like to work my way up to making more regular posts, but I'll start with babysteps. Bye! :)

I'm back!

So I'm back from my trip and it was life-changing. The funny thing is, I didn't really do "much" other than walk around the city w/these two cool German guys I met on my second day. T and B were too cool and T and I have been in touch since we've returned to our respective countries. I'll just leave it at that for now . . .

Two more days to BARCELONA!!!!

=D I have been running around like a madwoman trying to wrap up cases, etc. My mom flies in tomorrow morning and will stay w/my "Rugrat" while I'm gone. I plan to people-watch and make conversation w/other travelers. And if I meet a handsome Spaniard or two . . . =D

Decisions, Decisions . . .

So I've already reserved my hostel after hours of research, but my BFF's sister sent me a referral to airbnb, where I found a room for $16 per night!!!! I'd save about $100, but it wouldn't include breakfast (big whoop!) and I'd be sharing the apartment w/4 other people (way better than 11 in the dorm room). Sounds like a no-brainer, right? My only concern is that I want to meet people and figured that staying in a hostel would be a great way to do just that. I do love the idea of having a private room for less money though . . . What should I do?!!!!

I've reserved my hostel!!!! :)

I literally researched Barcelona hostels for hours (largely because the Hostelworld site seemed to load a bit slowly, but also because there were so many places that I had to check out). I looked at pictures, reviews, location, cost and "extras" like free breakfast, free wifi, etc. I made a list of my top choices and then did a comparison among those. I finally decided upon the Equity Point Centric. I booked directly through the site and saved a couple of dollars (and I will need them, as I will take quite the hit with the exchange rate). Here's where I'll be staying: I need to get my backpack and make sure I have plenty of spending money to feel comfortable. I'm SOOOO excited!!!! :)

I'm going to Barcelona!!!!

I've been DREAMING of traveling to Europe for soooo long! Well, that dream will soon become reality as I have just booked my ticket to Barcelona! I will be there for 10 days!!!! I may take a quick trip to Paris while I'm over there, since Ryanair is ridiculously cheap! We shall see . . . I'm traveling solo and might stay in a hostel. I'm pretty adventurous and down to meet new people. Anywho, that's what's new in my life. :)
